A “batirol” is used to mix the tablea drink before it is served. This procedure is done is to avoid having many naturally occurring bits of tablea at the bottom of the pot.
To use a “batirol”, simply hold its handle between the palms of your hands and rotate it by rubbing your palms together. Doing so creates a light froth atop the tablea drink and this completes the traditional way of preparing and serving hot “tsokolate”.
To this day, many contend that the “batirol” is an essential part of making tablea-based hot chocolate. Hence, the name “Tsokolate de Batirol” has come to mean premium hot chocolate!
